Many years ago a man named Napoleon Hill wrote the book “Think and Grow Rich” which was a groundbreaking study of many successful men of his day. The thoughts and ideas about success and mainly “material” success were outlined in the book. I have read this book several times and created an outline for my own use. The following short list is a very helpful guide for achieving any goal.
1. Fix in your mind the goal in clear detail and write it down.
2. Determine what you intend to give in return for this goal (don’t expect something for nothing).
3. Establish milestones and a completion date.
4. Create a definite plan.
5. Begin your plan and keep notes.
6. Review and reinforce your goal and your plan daily.
7. Give thanks for the opportunity to work on this dream.
You can find “The Secrets” to life and success in any number of programs authored by the guru’s of our time. For those of you who are new to this sort of thing, you will find some great information in most of the available programs and you will find plenty of filler to go along with it. Much of the information in these programs is written, revised, and re-written as “new information” although the same threads appear time after time. I am going to take pieces of several programs apart over the next few days or weeks and feed you the essence of their teaching. Be prepared. You could learn something that will change your life. Included in each upcoming blog entry will also be some words of wisdom that will prompt you to action. Please remember that without action, knowledge is only potential power. When you put that knowledge to work by doing something about it, great things may happen. We hope that you will find some exciting new truths on your road to success.
I have been working on small businesses and personal development projects for many years now. I have seen big changes in our economy, our national perspective, and the world in general. I can now confirm that life is indeed very short and I am certain that regardless of our age, it is never too late to start working on success.
