Many people who are reading this blog have already found success in one or more areas of life and that success is probably connected with a personal passion. If you are one of those people, I urge you to take that passion and share it with people who may not understand what it feels like to be truly passionate about an activity and who have never felt the success that comes with developing a life passion. If your passion happens to be talking to other people about your business, then volunteer to speak to chamber groups or other civic business organizations. If your passion is working with numbers, or human resources, or some other issue, please find a way to share your passion with people who could benefit from your experience. Everyone wins when we help each other.
Today I had the pleasure of sharing a nice dinner and conversation with my wife and some old friends. As we get caught up in our busy lives, we sometimes forget the importance of fellowship time. Fellowship is that special time with other people to connect on a deeper level. It is a time to appreciate our differences and realize our gifts. It is a time to talk and share and enjoy each other. Today, I appreciated the amazing gifts of our friends and I believe that they appreciated our time together; learning and sharing and just being with each other and for each other. Take the time to enjoy fellowship with others and you will find a special joy that comes with true sharing.
If we continue to do the same things, we can expect to get the same results. If things are going great and there’s no room for improvement, then keep it going just as it is. On the other hand, if your life could use some improvement, then do something different and special today. Look at your goals today. Are you moving in the right direction? Chances are pretty good that you could use an adjustment from time to time to help you stay on track. Reading your goals regularly will help. Take the time today to make that adjustment and your life will benefit by using positive energy that is focused in the right direction. Best wishes.
When difficult times happen as they surely will, it is important to keep our priorities straight and to remind ourselves about all the wonderful things in our lives. It has been said that in times of trouble, we either move closer to God or further away from God. I know for certain through difficult experiences in my life that moving closer to God and connecting with the deep peace that only comes through God is the right direction for me. It is easy to get angry when things go wrong, but choosing the high road, staying positive, and learning from difficult times is a much more fulfilling response. The good people around us and the positive influences on our lives will help us through these times if we pay attention and keep our priorities straight.
We all have rough days from time to time and if we look back, we will find that some or all of the causes of our rough days are unavoidable. If we remove the stupid things that we do, then we’re left with issues and problems that are tough or impossible to figure out at the moment. My suggestion is to take a deep breath, move on with your day in the most positive way you can, and revisit your challenges when you have had time to calm your body and mind. Sometimes rough days just happen. Be aware of your situation, make good decisions, and move on with the understanding that every day, every hour, and every minute is precious. Life is too short to drag emotional baggage around for very long so deal with the problems as soon as possible and get back to your wonderful successful life.
Have you had a God moment lately? It’s a moment when something so amazing happens in your life that you feel compelled to stop, analyze the situation, and then come to the conclusion that this event must have been influenced by a higher power. If we really pay attention, these moments will happen several times in a year and more for some people. I was talking to a friend recently who experienced a God moment so compelling that he decided to make a major change in his lifestyle. I will be writing about this person in an upcoming edition of our newsletter, so I won’t give away the details, but my point is that these “God moments” can be amazing and wonderful and very positive influences in our lives if we learn to identify and trust them. God moments cannot be confused with conscience or intuition, but instead, these are moments that are truly and amazingly powerful. Be open to the possibility that a higher power is alive and working in the universe and pay attention for the next God moment in your life. It may be just what you need to move you to the next level of success.
Too often, we find ourselves on the sidelines of life watching the action from a safe place. It’s great to take a breather from time to time, but you must remember to get back in the game before you become tight and cold. Just like any sports player who has warmed up for the big game, we need to do our warm ups and when we are ready, we go in and give it our all. If we sit too long, we need to go through the warm up process again. In the game of life, we don’t wait for a coach to tell us when to play, although a life coach can help us prepare. We decide when to get in the game and make a difference. We decide to engage fully in our life goals and passions. We decide to find success. Are you in the game today? If not, do a little warm up and dive in. The clock is always ticking.
I recently read Mac Anderson’s newsletter and picked up on a great idea. The article focused on the importance of a particular second job that is available to all of us. You won’t make a great salary with this job, but the benefits are awesome and there are no education or experience requirements. You do have to carve out a little bit of time for it but you don’t have to do the work during business hours. In fact, you can do the work whenever you want to do it as long as you get it done. If you choose to take on this job, you must be fully committed and the results will clearly show your dedication level. The job is your exercise program and if you take it seriously, the benefits will be life changing. Start today and make your exercise program become as important to your other work. I guarantee that the benefits will be worthwhile. This has changed my attitude about exercise and I hope it changes yours.
I attended a wake last week for a woman who was 103 when she died. Actually it was a celebration of her long and prosperous life. Several people spoke about her kind and generous nature and while she lived a relatively simple life, she helped many people through her service and friendship. They spoke of her as a person who didn’t understand holding on to anything negative. She was always thankful for family, friends, work, and for her role in life. I hope that when I die, I will be remembered for the help and friendship that I provide to others. It won’t make a bit of difference to me at that time, however, it seems like a great way to live life today. If we all thought just a little bit more about how we could help others, perhaps the world would be a nicer place. I would be happy to be part of improving this world. I hope you feel the same.
I have good news today. The good news is that anyone from any walk of life can have a successful life with peace, joy, and happiness. Successful people come in all shapes and sizes with a wide variety of skills and backgrounds. They also come with widely varying pay checks, bank accounts, and available free time. Yes, some successful people make very little money, and others have very little free time. What’s important is how you use the money and time that you have. In many cases, the road to increased success includes learning about success and then applying lessons to life in the real world. Many people have demanding jobs that seem to leave little room for things like learning about success. Some people are prone to fits of whining giving all sorts of reasons why they are stuck in their rut and unable to find success. Oh well. Get over it. If you truly desire to be a successful person, you will make it a priority to learn about and find success - no matter what. Poke around the LifeSuccess.com site and you will find some quality resources to help you on your way. It is our mission to help you learn about and find your own success in life. We are also working to improve and expand our resources so check back often for updates.
